There is quite a lot of library to read a video frame like OpenCV. I suggest you to spend more time to search a little bit more. It should not be hard to find sample code on that. Welcome to the club. During my consulting, people throw a lot of curveball at me. So being resourceful is very important. I hope after the intern, you will feel comfortable on problems that you completely unfamiliar with also.
